Unique Gift Cards - with a vintage feel
I just found this blog, by Kelly of Macaroni & Glue. She creates unique stationary with a vintage feel - there are cards for every occasion. I love them. Personally I'm tired of sending email cards because I'm too overwhelmed, or forgetful to have cards to mail in advance.
The computer has led to such a huge shift in how I live my life - mostly for the good, but there are a few things that are not so good! It's easy to be lazy - one of the things I've noticed is that I no longer mail out thank you cards. I don't know about you, but I was taught to always send out a thank you note if someone either gave me a gift, or did something especially nice. My mother would not be pleased to know that I've replaced the thank you card with an email thank you! The personal touch to the note is less palatable with email.
I'm going to try and be better at this.

I agree, Terry ! While "virtual" connections are wonderful and have definitely added so much to my life, there is still something so much better about something you can touch. Nothing like a special piece of snail mail either, I think !
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday and here's to keeping our thank-you's "real" !
Cheers !
As you know, Canadians are way more polite than Americans. I had to send thank you cards too. And I never went to someone's house without bringing a little something.
ReplyDeleteHandmade cards are definitely an area I want to get into. I made a Vday card for Ant and a thank you card for his mom at Xmas. I'm trying not to get too involved though, no time, no money for supplies...stick to jewelry for now I tell myself! BTW I love the look of your blog. I need to find out how to pretty mine up. Tired of the layout I use from blogger. Wish I knew how to do it.
Thank you so much for the mention! :)
ReplyDeleteToday is a very big day in the Where’s Wenda? Contest. I am visiting all of the SITS followers. Can I do it? There are around 1000 followers. Oh my! Better grab my cup of coffee and get on my way. Be sure to visit Hot Chocolate Caramel Mocha and Three Bay B Chicks as part of your contest entry.

Yay for a fellow card artist! I love it when people enjoy the act of writing letters. I know that I'm addicted to it (I write three letters a week) and so I'm glade other people are returning to the oldest form of communication.
